Non-Surgical Butt Lifting: The Honest Guide to Vacuum Therapy

Non-surgical butt lifting with vacuum therapy isn't a BBL, and it isn't permanent. What it actually is — and who it's actually for — is a smaller, more honest conversation than the social media hype suggests. Here's the version we walk every consultation through at our White Plains location.
What it actually is
Vacuum therapy uses suction cups (typically 2-4 cups per session) placed over the gluteal muscles. The suction temporarily lifts the tissue, increases local blood flow, stimulates lymphatic drainage in the area, and over a series of sessions can produce mild visible lifting of the gluteal contour and a more rounded shape.
It is not surgery. It is not a Brazilian butt lift. It does not add fat or volume. What it does is reposition existing tissue and improve local muscle tone and circulation. The change is real but modest — think 10-20% improvement in contour, not 80%.
Who's a good candidate
- Women in their 20s-50s with normal gluteal anatomy who want subtle enhancement without surgery, downtime, or injectable risk.
- Post-pregnancy clients dealing with mild gluteal flattening or asymmetry.
- Anyone who's lost weight and wants to add subtle shape back.
- Pre-event clients (8-12 weeks before) who want to feel a bit more lifted in clothing.
Who's not
- Anyone hoping for a BBL-equivalent result. The visible change is real but small. We'll be direct in consultation.
- Active skin infections, open wounds, or significant varicose veins in the area.
- Pregnancy or recent gluteal surgery (wait until cleared by surgeon).
The session itself
A typical butt-lifting session at our practice lasts 50 minutes. We start with skin prep and a brief assessment of any sensitivity. Cups are placed at standard anatomical points and gently moved through suction-and-release cycles. Most clients describe the sensation as a deep, slow pull — uncomfortable for the first session, very tolerable after.
You can expect light suction marks (similar to cupping marks) for 24-72 hours after each session. They fade completely.
How many sessions
Visible results require a series. Standard recommendation: 6-10 sessions, spaced 1 week apart for the first month, then biweekly. Maintenance: monthly sessions to preserve results long-term.
Clients who do a single session almost always say "I don't really see anything." That's expected. The visible work is cumulative.
Pairing with other treatments
For the strongest non-surgical contour result, vacuum butt lifting pairs well with:
- Anti-cellulite + carboxy therapy if there's visible dimpling.
- Body contouring on adjacent areas (thighs, flanks) for a more cohesive silhouette.
- Lymphatic drainage for circulation and faster visible recovery between sessions.
Costs in White Plains
Single session: $140. Pack of 5: $500. Pack of 10: $900. Most clients budget for the 10-pack and add monthly maintenance after.
